Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

September 11 - 12:00 PM

 Held in memory of the 2,977 people killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Originally Patriot Day, the name was changed by President Barack Obama on September 10, 2012. Americans observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46am Eastern Daylight Time, the time the first plane struck the North Tower. Flags are flown at half-mast.
