Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Communications Manager schedules, directs, and evaluates the work of the Communication Technicians and Drivers, ensuring efficient operation of the mailroom, switchboard, and VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), deliveries of mail and pharmaceuticals, and arranging of resident trips. The incumbent also coordinates the telecommunications among the four Community Living Centers to ensure maintenance and supervises the Transportation Department. Work is performed in accordance with Federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities.
Manages and supervises all staff in the Communications Department; interviews, selects and trains staff; conducts performance evaluations; counsels and disciplines staff as necessary.Schedules staff to maintain uninterrupted telephone coverage among the Community Living Centers and the Central Copying Center where forms, data, and instructional books are produced; schedules staff, including Drivers, for resident trips.Manages the mail and pharmaceutical delivery between the Community Living Centers and other County departments; oversees the delivery of resident mail.Performs dispatching functions as necessary.Oversees the updating of resident and employee directories, including phone numbers and email accounts.Arranges the repair or replacement of telephones, cell phones, and digital beepers throughout the Community Living Centers; distributes related invoices to appropriate recipients.Manages the VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) with vendor.Maintains the employee voicemail system.Prepares all memos, letters, and correspondence for the department.Sends written acknowledgment for charitable donations to the Kane Foundation.Serves as the Kane Center liaison with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and the Kane Foundation.Plans, prepares, and monitors the Communication department budget and expenditures.Manages off-site storage warehouse, keeps current inventory of stored equipment, and oversees equipment removal.Performs other related duties as assigned.
