We are seeking a creative and optimistic team member with a passion for inclusion and equity to join as a†Coordinator Student Engagement and Support. In this new role, you will focus on encouraging an environment where students with minoritized or underrepresented identities can thrive by supporting campus recruitment, providing opportunities for exploration of identity, and developing affinity group programming. Reporting to the Director of Student Programs and Engagement, you will also work to build individual capacity for our students through leadership opportunities and alumni connection.


Core responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and coaching students in a one-on-one environment
  • Managing program and event planning to support the overall campus wide student experience which will include affinity-based programming and advancement initiatives that impact underrepresented ethnic and racial groups and LGBTQIA social identities
  • Supporting efforts to build proficiency, leadership development and peer education and for equity and social justice through advising student organizations and facilitating relevant initiatives
  • Participating in planning, budget management, data collection, and reporting in support of overall mission of Center
  • Supporting the general functions of the Center via routine staff meetings, participation in campus events and signature Center programs
  • Assisting with Center response and student support during critical incident moments on campus or in broader global community
  • Assisting with business continuity planning and crisis management
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelorís degree in a related field required; Masterís highly desired
  • Minimum one year of professional experience in higher education in a role related to advancing these initiatives required; leadership experience and formal training in inter-group dialogue facilitation preferred
  • Experience mentoring and coaching graduate students for academic success and career readiness, and encouraging partnerships to provide student support highly desired
