Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh
Performance and Compliance as a department at the URA oversees and evaluates Diversity and Inclusion commitments on URA projects, so the ideal candidate will be passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion. Performance and Compliance also gathers data for reporting on inclusion and equity for city, state, and federal report purposes, as well as for URA board meetings and internal planning. Therefore, the candidate must be comfortable gathering data and assembling reports, with the assistance of Performance and Compliance team members.
The Program Assistant is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support for the department by meeting with potential Minority Women and Business Enterprises (MWBEs), triaging questions about our services, and gathering data from across the agency or within our current and future reporting methods. In addition, the candidate will review plans for inclusion on URA projects. The plans consist of an Excel Calculator and a Narrative, so comfort with reading simple Excel sheets and writing responses is important. The candidate will also review and manage construction wage compliance to ensure fair payment to workers on URA projects, so a detail-oriented, organized approach is crucial. Most importantly, the Program Assistant must have a team-oriented approach and excellent interpersonal skills, because the role interfaces with URA leadership, Board members, community leaders, and City of Pittsburgh employees.
