Assistant General Counsel
The Assistant General Counsel position is responsible for supporting and managing global legal and risk management matters for the SAE Group of companies (SAE International, Performance Review Institute and SAE Industry Technologies Consortia, and their subsidiaries).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Advising and counseling business leaders on business affairs, contracts, licensing, IP, M&A, data privacy, corporate governance, joint ventures, competition, advertising and other legal and compliance matters. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including IP licenses, publishing, distribution, vendor, consulting, product development, acquisition, digital marketing, content production, and marketing partnership deals. Providing practical legal advice for a variety of enterprise strategic initiatives, including IP development and licensing, new business ventures, digital content production, product development, corporate formation / structures, and stakeholder / industry relations. Identifying and addressing legal compliance issues, including branding, antitrust, export control, data privacy and data security issues. Providing strategic analysis of global legal and brand risks and set and drive policies and solutions to achieve business objectives efficiently. Collaboratively engaging with senior executives, directors and cross-functional teams such as local in-country lawyers, privacy lawyers, government affairs and various business groups.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Juris Doctor from an Accredited US law school is required. 7-10 years’ experience in the practice of law, with experience in contracting and business counseling Member, in good standing, of PA State Bar
