Position Summary:

We are looking for a high energy individual with operations or facilities experience to oversee a variety of operational issues across several performance venues. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is an arts presenter, facilities operator, and economic development organization located in downtown Pittsburgh. With an annual budget of $70 million, the Trust manages more than 10 performance/exhibition venues, facilitates over 2,000 performances annually and partners with other arts organizations to encourage more people to live, work, and play in the Cultural District.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager at the Benedum Center, the Theater Operations Specialist will coordinate facility maintenance services, assist with event scheduling, provide show settlement support, and serve as general operational backup for the Trustís Operations team. This position will reach across several Trust venues and the Specialist will work closely with staff members at all Trust facilities. This individual should be able to work a flexible work schedule as dictated by the show and event schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions:

∑ Provide backup coverage for show settlements at the Benedum, Byham, and Cabaret Theaters.

∑ Provide scheduling assistance to the Benedum, Byham, and Cabaret Theaters.

∑ Request checks and wire transfers for various settlements and other payments arising from theater operations.

∑ Supervise housekeeping staff at various venues as directed.

∑ Prepare invoices for rentals of rehearsal room space and other small settlement events.

∑ Monitor equipment for maintenance issues and schedule maintenance vendors.

∑ Review invoices for regular purchases and process for payment.

∑ Coordinate shade sail installation and maintenance at the Cabaret Theater.

∑ Coordinate planting and maintenance of large planters in Scott Place.

∑ Lead tours of venues and the Cultural District as needed.

∑ Serve as a liaison to the food and beverage vendor for special events.

Education, Experience and Skills:

∑ Bachelorís degree in operations management, events management, business administration, or related field preferred.

∑ Minimum 1-2 yearsí experience in operations, financial management, facilities management, or related field required.

∑ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Familiarity with scheduling software (Artifax, Better Impact) is preferred.

∑ Superior communications skills and calm demeanor along with outstanding time management skills required.

∑ Candidate should be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.

∑ Must be able to work independently and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

∑ Ability to work variable hours during performances at shows and events is essential.
