The SAE International Books program is in need of an intern to perform administrative tasks directly related the publishing of our 2019 Frontlist. This person will report to the publisher and support her in all activities leading to publication, including issuing contracts, securing reviewers, creating sales sheets, and other routine administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be an English or Business major available April through July.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating Sales Sheets for each new book. Sales Sheets are tools used by the sale reps to learn about a title. These sales sheets include book description, features to know and show, about the author and other pertinent data. 
  • Recruiting and managing new Book reviewers. Using the freelancer database, the Intern will solicit reviewers for books and book proposals. Once secured, he/she will issue tools to reviewers and manage the process. He/She will be responsible for proving a reviewer summary after process is complete. 
  • Contract templates and reviews. Using the contract templates, Intern will prepare first draft of contracts for Publisher to review. Intern will also make sure a complete archive of contracts is accessible. He/She may have to scan original documents to complete the archive. 
  • Other Administrative Tasks as assigned. Intern will need to be prepared to complete other tasks such as updating reviewer database, collecting reviewer data, preparing spreadsheets to submit a book to production, etc.

    ​EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, or Business preferred
  • Previous internship experience a plus
