Seton Hill University has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator.
The Network Administrator assists the Network Director with effective planning, developing, provisioning, installation, configuration, optimization, and support of the network and related infrastructure. The Network Administrator has a hands-on technical role responsible for administering and supporting our systems, analyzing and resolving hardware and software problems quickly and accurately. The Network Administrator works closely with other IT staff and end users to ensure users are receiving the best service and support possible. The Network Administrator takes a shared role in being on call 24 hours per day, seven days a week to ensure that the University network remains online and secure. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
Required abilities include attention to detail, good organizational skills, communication skills, proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, a strong work ethic and an extensive knowledge of typical computer infrastructure (wireless; switching and routing; firewalls; traffic monitoring and control devices; LAN fiber and cabling). Bachelor's degree in computer science plus 3 years in the field or equivalent work experience. Professionalism and prioritization are expected at all times.
Preferred abilities include security, scripting, cabling, LINUX, Windows Server, Extreme Networks, Fortinet and public speaking(e.g. student classes during orientation). Candidate must also perform all other duties as assigned in support of the mission of the Information Technology department and Seton Hill University.
