Dignity & Respect Tip 12 – Be Culturally Aware
March is Women’s History Month and the Dignity & Respect Council of Greater Pittsburgh is hosting its second annual Ceramic Tile Quilt event for women—and a few good men—to recognize the many cultures we have, to help other women, and to raise awareness of domestic violence. Help celebrate the dignity of all women! This March, join the FREE Ceramic Tile Quilt event for Bethlehem Haven.
Share an hour and enjoy a creative experience with other dynamic Pittsburghers! Design a tile that will become part of a Ceramic Tile Dignity & Respect Quilt to be displayed at Bethlehem Haven. Artist Alix Paul will be on hand to guide you through the process of painting, drawing, or writing a brief message on a ceramic tile.
Experience Bridge 13, a trio of solo exhibitions showcasing Keith Lo Bue, Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor and Jason Walker as they investigate the complexities of the urban experience. Through found materials, fiber, and ceramics, each artist presents a mash-up of contemporary life by remixing familiar figurative imagery.
Learn more about Greater Pittsburgh organizations that support women. Representatives of many organizations will be at the Resource Area throughout the day.
Enjoy complimentary refreshments from some of the Strip District’s favorite purveyors, including a barista bar from LaPrima Coffee and biscotti and sandwiches from Enrico Biscotti.
Donate full size shampoo, body lotion, wash cloths, bath towels, and flips flops to Bethlehem Haven.
