Understanding the Differences Between Affirmative Action and Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives – A Practical Approach

Recent court decisions surrounding “reverse” discrimination in the workplace and affirmative action in higher education have left many corporations concerned about whether aggressive diversity initiatives and strategies may run afoul of the law. Attendees will participate in an interactive session designed to provide them with a clear understanding of the current state of the law surrounding discrimination and “reverse” discrimination in employment, and affirmative action; and what impact such laws, regulations, and judicial opinions have (and do not have) on diversity management strategies, initiatives, and outcomes. Through a combination of Q & A with our featured speaker and facilitated roundtable discussions, attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of how and why a company can engage in aggressive diversity and inclusion initiatives without the fear of having to defend itself against claims of reverse discrimination.
