The IT Microsoft Systems Engineer will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting all components of the Microsoft ecosystem including Office 365 environment and Windows Operating Systems. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for end-user facing issues and escalations. The IT Microsoft Systems Engineer will be part of the team responsible for ensuring productivity toolset, architecture, design and implementation of the infrastructure solutions and governance for both on-premise and cloud solutions.†
Performs the ongoing administration and configuration of the modern Microsoft Windows and Citrix desktop environments (physical, virtual, cloud based) and productivity layers utilizing knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Windows Desktop and VMWare virtualization along with supporting applications such as Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and LAPS.†
Demonstrates strong knowledge in management and administration of Microsoft applications such as† Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Active Directory cloud environments including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, OneDrive and InTune for mobile device management, Active Directory, Windows File and Print Services and internet browsers, as well as business applications.
Conducts routine monitoring and analysis of the Microsoft operating systems and Office 365 application environments to include audit log reports evaluation; system and storage utilization reports; site and system usage; and growth reports; Monitors and tests performance for potential bottlenecks and identify possible solutions to resolve issues.
Develops and details best practices for supporting the Office 365 applications and assists with defining an appropriate support model to provide production support that improves application availability, quality and performance by ensuring achievement of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and participating in required support calls.
Works directly with customers and peers to reproduce, resolve and document issues for server administrators and security engineers to take appropriate corrective action; continuously communicating status updates to leadership and deliver solutions.
Provides Level 2 technical support for Windows, Citrix and remote connectivity infrastructure issues and implements timely corrective action, engaging third-party hardware and software vendor support as necessary.
Ensures end user productivity capabilities are operating effectively including that collaboration tools/service/products work effectively to support on-site, remote and hybrid environments for workplace productivity.
Maintains collaborative working relationships with business partners, technical services (database, servers, desktop, networking, security) and software vendors as needed. Understands customerís business implications, identifies and incorporates understanding into technical and process improvement recommendations.
Actively participates on large and complex projects as an individual contributor for analysis and capacity planning of infrastructure resources design; this work must meet project requirements and support department standards.
Provides technical analysis of vulnerabilities identified by the vulnerability management program for their impact to FHLBank and participates in the remediation plans for each; includes both internal and external landscapes.
