On July 6, 2020, Gina Winstead joins Vibrant Pittsburgh as Assistant Vice President of Membership Development & External Relations.
Throughout her life, Gina has learned that access and representation can be life changing. Although the challenges are still arising, she looks forward to being a cultural ambassador for the region and having the tough conversations of today to build a better tomorrow. Gina joins Vibrant Pittsburgh with over 15 years of professional experience in executive management, entrepreneurship, business development and consulting for nonprofit, corporate, and community growth. As a strong advocate for tech equity, inclusion, and entrepreneurship, she was named the first-ever Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Pittsburgh Technology Council and served in a dual capacity as Director of Member Engagement. In collaboration with the State of Pennsylvania, she works as a coordinator for the Keystone Innovation Zone, a state tax credit program for local startups. Gina believes the world should be better connected to all of the resources Pittsburgh has to offer.
She currently volunteers her time as a founding member of the Emerging Leaders Board for the Western PA Conservancy and the 412 Black Jewish Collaboration. Gina recently joined both Women in Tech PGH as Vice-President and Carlow University’s Advisory Council for the College of Learning and Innovation. A native of the Pittsburgh region (McKeesport), she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and is a recent graduate of the EDGE Women’s Leadership program.
Gina has been known to disrupt systems to build creative solutions that advance education, mentorship, deal flow and access to diverse networks. As a connector, she has bridged untapped communities into the technology sector and works to develop bold opportunities for the Pittsburgh ecosystem to innovate and thrive. We are excited to welcome Gina to the Vibrant Pittsburgh team!
