Megan Skubovius is responsible for Vibrant Pittsburgh’s communications and external relations strategy. Early in her education, Megan centered her skill set around nonprofit marketing and development – relationship building, project management, and communication. Megan brings over a decade of experience working within organizations of varying sizes to elevate development, project management, and operational functions. Megan’s work often includes high-level engagement with diverse constituencies – from executives and boards to clientele and the public – where she has grown and redefined their approach to constituent relationships garnering more fruitful relationships, meaningful engagement, and impactful involvement.
Megan’s experience has crossed multiple industries, including higher education, pediatric healthcare, and, most recently, food banking. Among her proudest accomplishments, she always talks about her experience orchestrating a float entry into the Rose Parade® and her efforts to open a pediatric specialty clinic in rural West Virginia.
A native of southern Wisconsin (it’s warmer in the “south”), she named Pittsburgh her home nearly 15 years ago. She left the Midwest to earn a B.A. degree in Public Relations from West Virginia Wesleyan College and an M.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications. She and her husband settled in Washington, Pennsylvania, where they started a successful small business and nonprofit creative studio her husband continues to run. While most of her sporting allegiances have remained in Wisconsin, cheering for the University of Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers, she has found footing in rooting for the Penguins thanks to her spouse. Their two daughters usually keep them busy, but when she gets the chance, she enjoys taking her artsy side for a spin attempting to avoid Pinterest fails, writing, and musical theater.
