DESCRIPTION:March 15 – Laying the Groundwork: Your Role in an Inclusive Workplace \nHow do we create the space needed to have meaningful conversations across different dimensions of diversity? In today’s multifaceted world\, building skills for inclusive conversations in the workplace is crucial. To foster inclusive interactions\, we’ll discuss the personal competencies that need to be developed such as commitment\, consistency\, empathy\, and trust. Building a culture of inclusion asks us for full participation as we understand our biases and adjust our approaches. \nIn this training\, participants will:\n• discuss the conditions needed to have inclusive interactions;\n• reflect upon and discuss barriers to individual DEI action; and\n• review ways to build and sustain psychologically safe spaces for these conversations. \nBreakout rooms will be used.\nParticipation will be an essential component for this conversation. \nVibrant Pittsburgh’s monthly Lunch and Learn brings together Vibrant Pittsburgh members from across sectors and industries in an informal\, interactive\, and participatory atmosphere to collaborate and deepen knowledge. DESCRIPTION:The Role of Accountability Metrics in DEI \nOrganizations seeking to accomplish diversity\, equity\, and inclusion as measurable outcomes understand the importance of metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Often\, organizations focus on DEI trainings and external messaging first. However\, it is vital for organizational leaders to explore accountability systems within their organizations\, how they can be implemented and how to ensure their effectiveness. One way is to focus internally is through employee engagement or pulse surveys. Does your organization collect and analyze internal data? Does your organization have metrics in place to measure the effectiveness of your DEI initiatives? What do you do with this information once you have it? \nPlease join our panelists as they discuss and highlight novel programming influenced by gathering and interpreting data from employees that show how their diversity\, equity\, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives went from “a thing we do” to “how we do all things.” \nResilience Through Equity Series (RTES) \nThis series is an opportunity for Vibrant Pittsburgh to highlight and tackle critical opportunities to improve the practices\, policies\, and cultures of organizations in the Pittsburgh region\, increasing the impact of our collective DE&I efforts.
