Mentoring in the Workplace—Relationship Building for Improved Outcomes

New workplaces can be challenging to navigate for any new employee, and especially for young people as they enter their first job, change jobs, or look for on-the-job learning opportunities through internships. Building positive relationships with their coworkers, especially those who are tasked with guiding them through this time, is vital to creating a sense of belonging and to learning to navigate a new environment with confidence. The Mentoring Partnership of SWPA brings expertise as a regional mentoring convener and relationship building specialist with an extensive cross-sector network, and will lead a conversation around the value of building positive relationships and providing mentoring to new employees in the workplace.
