Are you a mission-driven leader who believes in disability inclusion and wants to make a lasting impact in your community?
Achieva is seeking new members for its Board of Directors—individuals who are passionate about empowering people with disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives of their choosing.
For 75 years, Achieva has been a well-established, financially strong nonprofit supporting people with disabilities and their families through advocacy, early intervention, employment, housing, special needs trust management, and creative programs.

Who We’re Looking For:
Diverse boards make better decisions. Achieva welcomes candidates with a wide range of professional, personal, and lived experiences—including emerging leaders and first-time board members.
Ideal candidates are engaged in their communities, willing to support fundraising and attend events, and interested in contributing to nonprofit governance. Most importantly, we seek individuals who value disability inclusion and diversity and are motivated to engage beyond meetings as ambassadors for Achieva’s mission.
Experience that strengthens our board includes:
Information Technology, Finance, Law, Nonprofit or Government, Executive Leadership, Entrepreneurial or Start-Up Experience, and Advertising or Publishing.
Commitment & Expectations
- Hybrid board service (combination of in-person and virtual participation)
- Personally meaningful annual financial contribution
- Participation in fundraising and community engagement
- Attendance at board and committee meetings
