Construction Buyer

SALARY:

$41,501 – $51,505 per year commensurate with experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Division of Purchasing and Supplies procures supplies, equipment, and services in the most efficient, cost effective, and timely manner possible. The Division also brings value to the procurement process by promoting competition, reducing cost, creating efficiency, and providing high quality customer service.

The Construction Buyer reports to the Chief Purchasing Officer. This position is responsible for purchasing supplies, materials, equipment, and services for Allegheny County in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Allegheny County Purchasing Manual and in conjunction with the County Administrative Code. The Senior Construction Buyer mentors the Construction Buyer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Economics, Purchasing, Supply Management, or a related field. An associate’s degree and two (2) years applicable purchasing or project management experience may be substituted.
