For over 30 years, the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) has invested more than $5 billion to enhance quality of life in Allegheny County — supporting libraries, parks, arts and cultural organizations, sports and civic facilities, public transit, and more.

We’re seeking a Communications Director to lead RAD’s storytelling and brand strategy. This is a unique opportunity to be the voice of an organization that makes a tangible difference every day.

What You’ll Do

•         Shape and elevate RAD’s brand identity and public presence

•         Lead media relations and serve as spokesperson

•         Produce RAD’s Annual Report and other key publications

•         Manage website, email newsletter, and social media content

•         Coordinate RAD Pass: Year‑Round Fun for Everyone events and promotions

•         Write press releases, speeches, and public statements

•         Support leadership with interviews and public appearances

What We’re Looking For

•         Strong background in communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism

•         Exceptional writing and editing skills with a knack for clear, creative storytelling

•         Experience managing digital platforms (WordPress, social media, email newsletters)

•         Ability to connect with diverse audiences — from families to civic leaders

•         Knowledge of branding, promotion, and media relations strategies

•         Project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities

•         Nonprofit or government experience a plus; passion for arts and culture welcomed

Compensation & Benefits

•         Competitive salary, range begins at $70K and negotiable with experience
