Job Summary
The Teen Clubhouse Program Manager is responsible for overseeing a multitude to include: partnerships, recruitment, education, career development, recreation, arts & culture, and health & wellbeing. This position is responsible for planning, developing, overseeing, implementation and supervision of programs and program employees; This position reports to the Director of Teen & Career Development.
Clubhouse Responsibilities
- Prepare young people for success by creating and monitoring an environment that facilitates achievement and a sense of self-worth
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment; ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained and in proper working order
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs, services and activities
- Maintain and distribute marketing and promotional materials
- Supervise the performance, including annual appraisal process, of assigned program employees and volunteers; ensure a productive work environment under the leadership of the Director of Career Development
- Support with the management of staff, children, and families.
- Responsible for the day to day lessons/programming occurring in the club
- Ensure program enrollment procedures are followed using the BGCWPA registration system
- Ensure order and flow of the program is consistent and organized.
Address and resolve staff call offs and ratio regulations daily. - The Program Manager will be an approved transportation driver for BGCWPA.
- Encourages staff motivation and activities in the Clubhouse.
- Build positive relationships with parents/families as well as community partners such as local school districts
- Update and maintain skills in use of current computer information and technology
- Attend all BGCWPA mandatory staff meetings.
- Prepare weekly/monthly program reports
- Report on and actively participate in diversity, equity and inclusion practices and opportunities
BGCWPA Responsibilities
- Update and maintain skills in use of current computer information and technology
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, organizations, & school districts.
- Promote, stimulate and recruit student membership for the organization
- Assist other employees in establishing a friendly, cooperative relationship with public and private agencies in the area that are serviced by the organization.
- Ability to work variable shifts to include evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a focus on Social Work, Education, Human Services, Sociology or related field; or at least 5 years of related experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in some combination of education programs, social work, youth development, K-12, human performance enhancement, human services or related experience
- Knowledge of positive youth development with an ability to design learning strategies and programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities for youth
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health care services, trauma informed care, and referral resources.
- Excellent assessment, case management, crisis intervention, interpersonal, conflict mediation, and communication skills.
Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies
- Advanced positive customer service skills needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Local travel required
- 3 letters of Reference needed upon hiring
- Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills are a must
- Proficient in Google Suite.
- The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs function require the following physical demands: lifting & carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, any/or pulling, climbing to include steps, balancing, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and signification fine fingered dexterity. Ability to tolerate environmental conditions: air conditioning, heat, dust fumes, noise, close quarters, etc.
- Perform all additional duties and tasks assigned by leadership/supervisors.
Certifications and Clearances
BGCPWA’s highest priority is the safety of the youth we serve. CPR, Pediatric First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Criminal History, FBI Clearance, NSOR Certificate, PA Disclosure, PA Staff Health Assessment, TB Test, and Mandated Reporter certification required upon hire or within 6 months.
