The Program Director will direct the implementation of Tessitura and Prospect2 and subsequent integration with CMP business practices and other systems used by CMP. The Director will work with senior management project sponsors, implementation core team members, senior management of the four museums, IT management and staff and other project stakeholders to attain the strategic goals of the organization with the implementation of these systems. The Director supports the projects with technical, business and project management expertise to ensure a successful implementation and integration of the systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a relevant field (computer science, information management, business, strategy), project management qualification desirable.
At least ten years of experience in a technical field, including at least five years of management and/or project management experience.
At least 5 years working in the museum or cultural institution space is strongly desired.
Experience with Tessitura and its partner ecosystem is strongly desired.
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication across functions and level (suppliers, technical experts, end users, executive sponsors, and all other stakeholders).
Experience of working with different project management methodologies.
Budget creation and management experience.
Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the technology program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Proven ability to assess and learn new technology continuously as solutions evolve, including customer database, retail point-of-sale, and ecommerce systems.
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs to ensure plans, timelines, documents are accurate and up to date.
Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools and program/project management software (e.g. Basecamp, Teamwork, MS Project, Atlassian products etc.).
Working knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, PowerBI, Sisense).
Knowledge and skills related to organizational change and development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Managing the implementation and integration of Tessitura and Prospect2, including managing scope, budget and timeline.
Managing the activities if the internal project team and coordinating with vendor implementation team project manager.
Collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the new systems meets departmental expectations and requirements.
Liaising with external suppliers and managing contracts, relationship, and performance related to the implementation.
Establishing quality assurance standards for technology and ensuring those standards are met as new solutions are implemented.
Planning and executing working sessions and training programs for end users.
Working closely with business teams to define and refine business processes and user journeys as relevant to the new systems.
Coordinating project working groups and steering committees to facilitate project communications and decision making. Building and maintaining high-performing project teams.
Owning program documentation and reporting from project initiation to evaluation. Including business cases, project plans, status update presentations, post-project reviews, etc.
Identifying potential risks associated with the implementations and developing strategies to mitigate them. Anticipate challenges and develop contingency plans.
Creating budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that the implementation operate within their allocated financial resources.
Ensuring post-implementation that good supplier management is put in place, is maintained and owned as relevant by appropriate business owners.
Planning, monitoring, and delivering strategic developments to existing systems, e.g. upgrades and integrations.
Ensuring all technology solutions are compliant with best practices for security, internal policies, and any applicable laws/regulations.
Focusing on business efficiencies and improving data insight across the organization.
Advising on organizational change relevant to technology, supporting business owners in defining skills, roles, and teams
Working closely with senior management to align technology programs with the organization’s goals and objectives. Contributing to strategic planning processes to steer the organization’s technological strategic direction, development, and future growth.
