Job Summary and Mission:
The Commercial Training Program Manager for the metal cutting business unit is responsible for the process that impacts the knowledge base and productivity of the commercial team members through the development, coordination, presentation, implementation, and auditing of training programs. The program manager will ensure standardized training is provided to all identified trainees, which may consist of new hires, outside sales employees, inside sales employees, application engineers, customer service representatives, Emerge program participants, distribution partners, and customers using proven methods to educate and enhance performance. Program manager will oversee implementation of training needs for our global commercial teams.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts training in areas of expertise. Tracks training programs for all commercial employees.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results / productivity improvements and provide training metrics / measurements.
Collaborates with sales operation and business units on new material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates and modifies existing and proposed training programs and recommends appropriate changes.
Ensure the proper documentation and training are completed for the commercial processes.
Assist with execution and continuous improvement of the Train the Trainer program. Audit of trainers to ensure effectiveness. The program manager will likely be certified as a trainer for external commercial training programs.
Prepares and distributes training aids such as software, instructional materials, handouts, evaluation form and visual aids. Identifies equipment / space needs and makes presentations as necessary.
Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries and communications accurately and timely.
Coordinates with external vendors to receive quotations, enter purchase orders and coordinate external training.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates:
Bachelor’s degree required
Trainer experience with knowledge of training and instructional methodologies and project management skills (3-5 years preferred)
Have experience with curriculum development and implementation for a professional commercial audience.
Problem solving, decision-making and time management skills required.
Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision.
Proven high performance with strong attention to detail and strong knowledge of commercial processes.
Proven ability to work with others and a demonstrated respect among peers and managers
Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships. Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to promote the program, create momentum and foster organizational change.
Ability to communicate with company personnel at all levels, trainers from other companies, professional training group members and consultants and the ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment to meet operation deadlines.
