In 2023, we invested $5.5 million in increasing the quality of life in our neighborhoods, leveraging an additional $11.2 million for equitable development projects. We served 9,600 residents, invested $1.37 million in minority-or-women-owned businesses or organizations, and provided over 2,000 hours of advisory services to developers, small business owners, and nonprofit organizations. JOB SUMMARY:
Neighborhood Allies is seeking an experienced, proven, and innovative Senior Manager to oversee data-driven implementation and the adoption of a CRM system (Salesforce) while advancing program evaluation practices and strategies. This role will ensure data is tracked, collected, and leveraged effectively to improve organizational impact, streamline workflows, and empower team members to make data-informed decisions. This person will be joining a professional team of thoughtful community development experts who care deeply about advancing opportunity for people of color, vulnerable populations, and under-resourced communities.
This role’s strategic nature will require high collaboration across our entire team, with a proven ability to influence change management culture and develop a shared understanding of data. The Senior Manager of Data, Strategy, and Evaluation will work closely with program staff to measure, analyze, and report on program outputs, outcomes, and long-term impact. This person will lead data aggregation and disaggregation efforts and present reports to the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors. In conjunction with the Senior Director of Knowledge Management and Communications, this person will establish streamlined and efficient systems to tell our story and demonstrate our impact to funders, community members, media, and partner organizations. The Senior Manager of Data, Strategy, and Evaluation will also inform our policy work, providing data and recommendations to the Senior Director of Public and Private Partnerships.
The Senior Manager of Data, Strategy, and Evaluation will implement an organizational culture that uses data to improve programs, practices, and supports qualitative storytelling. This person will develop, implement, and monitor strategies and tools to measure impact across the organization. This person will help staff improve the use of data, empower data-driven decision making, and create more outcome-driven programs and initiatives.
The ideal applicant for this position will have 3-5 years of experience in (1) program evaluation and process-improvement, (2) strategic leadership in the nonprofit or public sector, and (3) monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools involving both quantitative and qualitative data. The Senior Manager of Data, Strategy, and Evaluation is a full-time, hybrid position in Pittsburgh, PA. We provide a high degree of flexibility to creative and productive team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data and Program Evaluation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data and evaluation strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals to measure the impact and effectiveness of its programs and initiatives.
- Plan and oversee implementation, management, and analysis of enterprise-wide data to support program evaluation, impact measurement, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and secure effective data utilization and data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Lead analysis of Healthy Neighborhoods indicators and other key performance objectives.
- Create and maintain data tracking systems and develop processes for ongoing data analysis to measure program effectiveness and impact.
- Train staff in data collection methods and enforce the proper usage of data tracking systems and procedures.
- Engage with consultants and companies hired to perform specific duties related to our data collection and storytelling efforts.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including clients, partners, and funders.
- Support program staff and Senior Leadership in developing action plans for their departments.
- Create data dashboards and other visual tools to support the development and completion of grant proposals, grant reports, and other donor reporting.
- Fulfill general database maintenance activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the President & CEO and the Senior Director of Knowledge Management and Communications.
CRM Management and Team Support
- Serve as the primary administrator of the organization’s Salesforce CRM, ensuring the platform is optimized for programmatic and organizational needs.
- Lead the adoption and rollout of Salesforce across the organization, providing hands-on support to staff as they integrate the CRM into their workflows.
- Develop user-friendly workflows, dashboards, and reporting tools tailored to each department’s needs.
- Create documentation, training materials, and troubleshooting guides to support staff learning and confidence in using the CRM.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of CRM usage and recommend enhancements to improve data quality, team efficiency, and overall impact reporting.
Strategic Leadership and Collaboration
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to support data-driven decision-making and organizational planning.
- Contribute to the development of data-driven action plans for programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support Senior Director of Knowledge Management and COO on implementation of Strategic Plan objectives.
Communications
- Help finalize and implement the new three-year strategic plan, ensuring staff understand program goals and objectives outlined in the plan.
- Develop and present reports to the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
- Assist in drafting communication pieces and other written deliverables highlighting the impact of our organization.
- Other duties as assigned by the President & CEO and the Senior Director of Knowledge Management and Communications.
Policy Analysis
- Consult with the Senior Director of Public and Private Partnerships and other senior leadership on work related to policy research and analysis.
- Through research and evaluation of our own programs, determine what local, state, and federal issues are being addressed by Neighborhood Allies.
- Provide data and recommendations to influence the role of Neighborhood Allies in public policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High degree of computer literacy and experience with CRMs (Customer/Client Relationship Management system) and statistical software (e.g., Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Tableau).
- 7+ years of proven leadership experience within an organization; a record of accomplishment of success in data-driven decision-making is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and build strong interdepartmental relationships.
- Experience with program evaluation and/or proficiency in quantitative analysis.
- Strong data analysis, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity designing and executing common data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, experiments, etc.
- Database management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to give careful attention to detail in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills including an aptitude to interact effectively with various people groups and different audiences.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Program management experience in the nonprofit or public sector is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

SALARY:
Demonstrating our dedication to equitable compensation, the salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000, enabling us to customize offers based on individual experience.
