The PEAL Center is seeking a dedicated Intake and Program Support Coordinator to act as the first point of contact for families and youth with disabilities and complex healthcare needs. This vital role manages the intake process, responds to inquiries, and directs clients to appropriate resources, all while supporting the execution and administration of The PEAL Center’s diverse programs. Based in our Pittsburgh office, this position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. This role is well-suited for a proactive and organized individual who is deeply committed to supporting people with disabilities, empowering families with educational choices, and actively engaging with the community. This position is part-time for 24-28 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for intakes, general inquiries, and program-related communications.
- Manage responses to online Help Requests, emails, and phone calls, directing these to appropriate team members.
- Utilize Salesforce for accurate record-keeping of interactions, services provided, and case management.
- Support the coordination and execution of PEAL Center programs, ensuring logistical efficiency.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement initiatives.
Assist in basic bookkeeping and maintain both physical and digital filing systems. - Engage in continuous training and development to enhance service delivery and advocacy skills.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the PEAL Center’s operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in social services, education, or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience with disability services or in non-profit educational settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable with phone, virtual, and in-person interactions.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM, with robust data entry and organizational skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Availability for evening and weekend training as required.
- Experience in advocacy for persons with disabilities is highly desirable, especially for candidates who are parents of students with disabilities or have personal experience with disabilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours during events and conferences.
- Must manage phone and computer-based tasks efficiently.
- Frequent travel for offsite meetings and events is required.
- Capable of organizing and transporting exhibit materials.
- Reliable transportation; (Public transit or Valid PA driver’s license and insurance; mileage reimbursement provided).
- Must have or be willing to obtain Act 33 and 34 clearances and FBI fingerprinting within the first month of employment.
