Transforming sentiment into organization change that is actionable, measurable and authentically Pittsburgh.

In 2021, Vibrant Pittsburgh hosted the Regional Economic Inclusion Summit. The Summit included in-person Pre-Summit activities, as well as the full-day virtual summit on October 13, and concluded with an in-person Post-Summit 10th Anniversary Celebration that evening.

Building on the success of the 2019 summit featuring former Senior Advisor to the President of the United States, Valerie Jarrett, our annual event included some amazing speakers. In addition, leading professionals spearheaded insightful talks and panel sessions as well as training workshops. These sessions/workshops focused on a variety of topics and industries as we examined what is needed and what is next for advancing workplace inclusion.

Summit Goals

Connect with diversity, equity, and inclusion leaders, home-grown and from around the globe

Convene virtually and in-person for cutting edge DEI conversations and workshops

Ignite DEI change in their organizations and workplaces with proven strategies and tools

Engage with a diversity of talent throughout the Pittsburgh region

Why is DEI MORE THAN A MOMENT for the Pittsburgh Region?

In 2020, the Pittsburgh region and communities across the country confronted longtime, systemic inequities. Going forward, we must ask ourselves: what makes our regional response more than a moment? What shifts a moment of awareness into a sustained movement resulting in greater diversity, equity, and inclusion for our region?

With the competition for skilled talent increasing around the world, our region needs to constantly assess its “value proposition” and engage a diversity of professionals currently living in the region in the crafting of solutions that will address the region’s growth aspirations. The Regional Economic Inclusion Summit provides resources, networking, and convening opportunities to our region’s businesses, furthering the conversation and commitment to the promising practices that move the needle for our region.
