POSITION SUMMARY
Loads a solid waste/recycling truck. Collects refuse/recycling (i.e. household, bulk or recycling) on designated City routes.

Union: This position is included in the Teamsters Local Union 249 bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

POSITION DUTIES
Loads a solid waste/recycling truck, collects refuse (i.e., household, bulk or recycling) and empties containers on designated City routes.
Carries, lifts, and loads solid waste (weighing between 75 to 100 lbs.) into truck daily.
Replaces refuse containers and lids; ensures that surrounding areas are clean of debris.
Maintains accurate records on equipment and refuse/recycling routes.
Cleans and maintains cab area of truck, ejection blade(s) and sweep blade(s).
Observes proper safety precautions and policies.
Receives complaints/requests from residents and refers them to assigned Foreman/Refuse Collection Supervisor.
Assists driver with the safe operation of the vehicle (i.e., assists the driver backing up vehicle, assists in narrow areas).
Performs activities and functions of related personnel and other related tasks/duties as assigned or required.
