Vice President of Home and Community
Achieva, an organization that advocates with, empowers, and supports people with disabilities and their families throughout their lives, seeks a dynamic and innovative professional to serve as the Vice President of the Home and Community Department of Achieva’s largest service organization, Achieva Support. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Achieva Support.
Achieva’s Home and Community Department provides in-home and community support for people of any age with a disability. Our goals and supports are designed to build independence and ensure health and safety.
The V.P. of Home and Community will oversee, manage, develop, and grow Achieva Support’s Home and Community Department. Additional responsibilities include administer policies and procedures; recruit, train, and supervise staff; administer contracts; and monitor billing and payment for services. This position will directly report to the Senior Vice President of Achieva Support and, in his/her absence, the President of Achieva Support.

Oversight Responsibilities
This position is directly responsible for leading management-level employees within the Home and Community Department and indirectly responsible for all employees within the Home and Community Department.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure person-centered principles are consistently incorporated throughout the Business Operations division.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to all Home and Community support staff.
- Evaluate departmental procedures to streamline or automate processes.
- Establish and monitor productivity standards for all Home and Community staff and provide timely, accurate, and complete reports regarding utilization and detailed plans when targets are not achieved.
- Collaborate with Executive leadership in the development and implementation of effective growth strategies, processes, and new programs and/or service lines.
- Seek and develop new program opportunities, innovation, and service expansion to reach new disability populations and geographic regions consistent with organizational strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement plans for operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate strategic objectives of the department and organization.
- Provide all relevant data for regular reporting to funding sources and Executive leadership.
- Support and promote the organization’s implementation of a value-based care delivery model.
- Monitor emergency/crisis intervention strategies, including on-call systems, during non-business hours.
- Ensure compliance with agency, local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and contract requirements relative to Achieva’s Home and Community Department.
- Assure knowledge of and compliance with county, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Develop and actively monitor annual budgets and utilize resources efficiently.
- Ensure the selection of and maintenance of qualified personnel in all positions.
- Foster a success-oriented and accountable environment within the organization by goal setting and assessments at least quarterly.
- Model a customer service-focused, mission-driven approach to service delivery that values diversity for all employed and supported.
- Establish working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that contribute to the achievement of program goals and objectives.
- Attends in-service and training sessions as required.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with the human resources department to ensure agency personnel policies and procedures are followed.

Experience and Attributes
Five-plus years of management experience in providing Home and Community based supports and services to people with disabilities.
Bachelor’s Degree in human services, rehabilitation science, business administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree in any of these disciplines is a plus.
Strong business acumen and budget management skills.
Demonstrated leadership in leading people, programs, and innovation/growth.
High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
Professional and diplomatic interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various personalities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and organizational management skills.
Satisfactory Act 33/34 clearances are required.
