Fred Rogers Productions is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Assistant to support the production of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. This temporary position will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production activities, coordinating schedules, and maintaining production workflows. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Project Organization and Scheduling
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings related to Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood production.
- Collaborate with the Supervising Producer and Production Coordinator to deliver ancillary broadcast materials, including episode descriptions, episodic images, clip requests, and funder acknowledgments.
- Maintain and update the production tracker in collaboration with the Production Coordinator.
- File and archive all production-related materials.
- Record and distribute minutes from internal production meetings.
Scripting
- Coordinate and track all scripting materials, including distribution for review, clearance, and maintaining notes from internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with the Supervising Producer and Production Coordinator to create and manage scripting schedules and tracking documents.
- Assist in updating the series bible and reviewing scripts during script meetings and reviews.
- Distribute weekly scripting schedules and compile notes from advisors, PBS, and other stakeholders.
Production
- Distribute animation passes to appropriate reviewers, including internal teams, PBS KIDS, and advisors.
- QA series packaging elements such as show credits, final production scripts, and descriptive video scripts.
- Coordinate schedules for the delivery, distribution, and review of pre-production elements (concept designs, character designs, new props, song demos, etc.) with production partners.
- Track design reviews in collaboration with the Production Coordinator.
- Record internal notes during reviews of rough cuts and VFX/mix passes.
- Quality check video elements pre- and post-delivery in coordination with the Production Coordinator.
Cross-Department Coordination and Management
- Maintain broadcast and delivery schedules and oversee archival processes for production materials in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistics, including travel arrangements, clip requests, and the delivery of promotional and episodic materials to PBS and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of production experience in roles such as Production Assistant or equivalent media production role.
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, time-management, and project-management skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a team.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, flexibility, kindness, and good humor.
- Interest in or knowledge of children’s media.
Preferred Experience
- Experience providing creative input as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
- Basic video editing skills.
Compensation:
$30 – $35 / Hour
