It is Welcoming Week, which means that organizations around the US are creating events that highlight the cultural diversity of our country, and reach out to newcomers. This event was created by Welcoming America, a nonprofit that promotes and celebrates inclusivity and immigration to the US. The City of Pittsburgh is an official “Welcoming City”, and presents a wide array of events throughout Allegheny County. Pittsburgh always has a lot going on, culturally speaking. From international-themed potlucks at branches of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, to international visitors performing jazz and poetry at City of Asylum, to intercultural exercise sessions at the YMCA, there is truly something for everyone. Check out Vibrant Pittsburgh’s events page or the Welcoming America website for more Welcoming Week events!
