Achieva, an organization that advocates for, empowers, and supports people with disabilities and their families throughout their lives, seeks a dynamic and innovative human resources professional to serve as the Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR). The VPHR will report to the Senior Vice President of Achieva Resource, provide leadership to the organization’s human resource functions, and develop and implement strategies and programs to ensure continued organizational growth and innovation in support of the workforce. The VPHR will be an active member of the Achieva Executive Leadership Team.

Oversight Responsibilities
● This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the Human
Resources department and indirectly responsible for all employees within theHuman Resources department.

Roles and Responsibilities
● Develop and implement strategic human resource plans.
● Oversee the organization’s recruitment and hiring processes. Serve as a partner in the organization’s retention efforts.
● Serve as a partner, contributor, and leader in furthering the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
● Effectively structure compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
● Direct the administration of benefit programs; evaluate and develop
recommendations for improvements to employer-sponsored benefit programs.

●Establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals,
objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and
evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness and effectuate changes required for improvement.
● Provide direction and oversight in developing and implementing employee relations strategies and programs designed to minimize and mediate workplace disputes and foster a positive and productive work environment.
● Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and employee complement to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives; oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff.
● Develop key human resource data indicators and develop reports to keep the organization aware of the pulse of the workforce and the field.
● Maintain progressive and efficient processes for all aspects of the employee life cycle. Serve as a consultant to managers and leaders as they perform their duties related to the employee life cycle.
● Evaluate departmental procedures to streamline or automate processes,
improve customer service, and improve human resources data management; plan and implement changes as required.
● Ensure compliance with relevant statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and company policies. Ensures all related reporting is completed.

Other Functions
● Keep current on human resource policies, practices, trends, and laws.
● Work across the organization to identify opportunities for process and
organizational improvements.
● Facilitate the talent acquisition process for all executive and key senior-level positions.
● Provide advice to senior leadership on human resource matters with
organizational importance of a sensitive or confidential nature.
● Provide support with activities of the Board of Trustees’ Human Resources Committee, including but not limited to human resource policy approvals, research and analysis, and data collection.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Attributes
● Five-plus years in human resources with increasing management experience in human resources or organizational development areas.
● Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field required. A master’s degree and/or human resources credential (such as Professional Human Resources certification, Society of Human Resource
Management-Certified Professional) is a plus.
● Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to bring a high degree of cultural awareness.
● High degree of initiative, confidentiality, and independent judgment is
required.
● Professional and diplomatic interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various personalities.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
● Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
● Knowledge of and experience with various human resource information
systems.
● Satisfactory Act 34 clearances are required.
