Redefining how Community and Police build positive interactions and safe neighborhoods.
PITTSBURGH (April 25, 2017) – The Power of &, The Bridges Mentoring Group and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police announce the first annual ‘Ussie (Us-ey) Summer Games’, taking place at Highmark Stadium on June 24, 2017. The USSIE SUMMER GAMES are a citywide, field-day challenge designed to build, nurture, and maintain relationships across the City of Pittsburgh.
The Ussie Summer Games will feature police officers from all six Pittsburgh Police Zones, who will team up with members of their respective communities and compete in field-day style challenges. The six zones will be led by celebrity team captains and compete for the Ussie Summer Games Traveling Trophy…and of course bragging rights.
“We’re excited to participate in this meaningful event that creates a space for the Police and the Community to engage in an innovative way,” said assistant chief of Police Larry Scirotto.
The family-friendly day will feature a variety of activities. In addition to the competitive team games, attendees will enjoy a variety of activities that include: face painting, music, food, vendors as well as sponsor information and activities.
